The Difference Between Brass and Bronze?

Brass and Bronze look very similar but are made up of different materials and mistaking them can cause big problems. Both materials are metal alloys, which means they are a combination of two or more different metals.

Brass is made up of Copper and zinc making it a malleable material, the amounts may differ, but Copper normally makes up most of the material.

Bronze is also made from mostly Copper with Tin and other small amounts of additives added. This makes Bronze harder and a more corrosive-resistant material than Brass, which means Bronze is a higher quality metal and therefore a lot more expensive.
